The Los Fresnos area covers 5 square miles in southern Cameron County and has a population of approximately 19,249. Los Fresnos is located at 26°4′24″N, 97°28′41″W (26.073216, -97.478164).

 

The racial makeup of the area is 81.96% White, 0.42% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.02% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 14.38% from other races, and 2.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race are 84.62% of the population.

 

The average household size is 3.48 and the average family size is 3.86.

 

Los Fresnos is served by the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District. Students in Cameron County may also choose to attend magnet schools in the South Texas Independent School District.
